I was driving my kids home from school just before last Christmas and I had played some Christmas songs for both of their 4th and 5th grade classes. My son joined me on the bongos and my daughter sang with me. It was the greatest feeling, nothing compares with playing music with your kids. Anyway, I was telling them what a super job they had done and how all the parents and kids seem to enjoy what we had done when my son blurts out, "You know dad, your kind of famous, everyone knows who you are and that you sing and write songs and make CD's." Well I thought about that and I guess he was right as I do go a lot of places here on the Treasure Coast and people recognize me and say, "aren't you that guy who plays music, you know you are GREAT! you should be famous, what are you doing here?", or "I saw you at (such & such festival, street dance, or some other waterfront establishment) Man you are really talented, I bought one of your CD's and I really love that "WATCHIN' THE FISH BOUNCE",or one of the many other songs I have written and recorded. They will try to define what I do by saying, "Your kind of country/rock & roll/rhythm and bluesy sounding". I guess you could say that, as you will find a mixture of all that on my CD's.
